Defendant was riding in the backseat of a car when he pulled out a shotgun and fatally shot the female driver and her front seat passenger. He jumped out after the car crashed into a light pole, walked away, returned and retrieved the shotgun. He was apprehended the following day. He was subsequently indicted for the two murders, tried, found guilty, and duly sentenced.
